Brand Identification and Colour Design

So what does this mean for the world of branding and advertising? The short answer is that colour is imperative when it comes to getting people to buy your products. Unfortunately, the use of colour can get a little tricky. First, you have to consider the colour of your company. What response do you want to elicit from potential customers when they think of your brand? Do you want to be seen as trustworthy, fun, or powerful? Then you must reflect on what you’re selling.

Advertise With Relevant Colours

Take Valentine’s Day for example. Businesses will be marketing cards, chocolates and flowers. Many of these businesses may have blue, black, or green as part of their branding platform, but would it make sense for them to stick with those colours for this holiday?  Pink and red are the colours of love and romance, and companies understand that to sell their goods, they must incorporate them into their promotions.

Being in business you must also think about the selling atmosphere they’re trying to create. If you would like your customers to think they’re getting a deal, you use red or yellow to highlight products that are on sale. If you want your customers to feel like they’re buying something high-end or luxurious, you might use black or purple in your marketing scheme.

Printed postcards and your marketing plan!

Do you wish that you could advertise and promote your business more?

With our world’s technology and means of communication continually increasing, postcard printing can sometimes be overlooked for the quality marketing tool it is. Postcards are simple, affordable, flexible and highly attractive. Some say that postcard printing is actually the most inexpensive marketing strategy available today!

The first advantage of using postcards is the fact that they are cost-effective. It is a low level of investment for such high results. Postcards are also extremely personal and by sending postcards, business owners can develop a closer relationship with their clients and appear to be more personable and friendly. Postcards also offer a high degree of versatility with the ability to be made into different shapes or sizes to fit the message that is being portrayed.

Postcards are more than six times as likely to be read as compared with other types of mail as most of it just goes straight in to the bin! This high readership ensures that the message that is being advertised will be read and understood. Bright colors and eye-catching graphics can also be added to the postcard printing to draw the reader in even further.

Once postcard printing is complete and the postcards are delivered, don’t forget to intertwine the efforts with other marketing initiatives. A postcard can be used in conjunction with a follow up e-mail or telephone call. In order to maximize the return on postcard printing, multiple marketing tools should be combined.

Do you have eye-catching personalized postcards that could help promote your business and encourage potential customers to get in touch?  If the answer is no, then why not?  What are you waiting for?

Can different colours affect your mood?

There is no escaping colour. It is ubiquitous. Yet what does it all mean? Why are people more relaxed in green rooms? Why do weightlifters do their best in blue gyms?
Colours often have different meanings in various cultures. And even in Western societies, the meanings of various colours have changed over the years. But researchers have generally found the following to be accurate:

Black

Black is the colour of authority and power. It is popular in fashion because it makes people appear thinner. It is also stylish and timeless. Black also implies submission. Priests wear black to signify submission to God. Black outfits can also be overpowering, or make the wearer seem aloof or evil. Villains in films, such as Dracula, often wear black.

White

Brides wear white to symbolize innocence and purity. White reflects light and is considered a summer colour. White is popular in decorating and in fashion because it is light, neutral, and goes with everything. However, white shows dirt and is therefore more difficult to keep clean than other colors. Doctors and nurses wear white to imply sterility.

Red

The most emotionally intense colour, red stimulates a faster heartbeat and breathing. It is also the colour of love. Red clothing gets noticed. Since it is an extreme colour, red clothing might not help people in negotiations or confrontations. Red cars are popular targets for thieves. In decorating, red is usually used as an accent. Decorators say that red furniture should be perfect since it will attract attention.

Pink

The most romantic colour, pink, is more tranquilizing. Sports teams sometimes paint the locker rooms used by opposing teams bright pink so their opponents will lose energy.

Blue

The colour of the sky and the ocean, blue is one of the most popular colours. It causes the opposite reaction as red. Peaceful, tranquil blue causes the body to produce calming chemicals, so it is often used in bedrooms. Blue can also be cold and depressing. Fashion consultants recommend wearing blue to job interviews because it symbolizes loyalty. People are more productive in blue rooms. Studies show weightlifters are able to handle heavier weights in blue gyms.

Green

Currently the most popular decorating colour, green symbolizes nature. It is the easiest colour on the eye and can improve vision. It is a calming, refreshing colour. People waiting to appear on TV sit in "green rooms" to relax. Hospitals often use green because it relaxes patients. Dark green is masculine, conservative, and implies wealth. However, seamstresses often refuse to use green thread on the eve of a fashion show for fear it will bring bad luck.

Yellow

Cheerful sunny yellow is an attention getter. While it is considered an optimistic colour, people   lose their tempers more often in yellow rooms, and babies will cry more. It is the most difficult colour for the eye to take in, so it can be overpowering if overused. Yellow enhances concentration, hence its use for legal pads. It also speeds metabolism.

Purple

The color of royalty, purple connotes luxury, wealth, and sophistication. It is also feminine and romantic. However, because it is rare in nature, purple can appear artificial.

Brown

Solid, reliable brown is the colour of earth and is abundant in nature. Light brown implies genuineness while dark brown is similar to wood or leather. Brown can also be sad and wistful. Men are more apt to say brown is one of their favorite colors.
